VIC has a team of academicians which are dedicated, committed and highly efficient. They are creative and innovative. Their innovative, highly integrated curriculum helps the students to meet their goals and to enhance their skills and build their fundamental knowledge in each discipline chosen.

The curriculum of the College helps to equip the students with the core knowledge of the course and sufficient practical aspects. Each course is developed carefully based on the 8 main domains of Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) requirements which emphasis more on continuous learning and blended with the future trends of the industry requirements with the advice from the expertise.

The core curriculum emphasizes on applied and continuous learning and encompasses the basic concepts of experiential learning. The core modules are structured to give an impressive and broad grasp of the essential that a successful professional must have. These modules balance hard between the implicit and explicit knowledge where the module been taught by adapting out of box traditional methods.

The College ensures that the curriculum is as per recognised internationally as well as industry standards and that they are properly maintained. To help to achieve these objectives, the College has specially started some practises few of which have been mentioned below;

Academic Affairs Unit (AAU)
To foster an engaging and effective educational environment that promotes the pursuit of outstanding teaching and learning which creates liberal learning by supporting an inclusive global, creative and intellectual stimulating academic environment. It also promotes the main task of create students for successful employment of lifelong leaning by equip the students with knowledge, skill, attitude that necessary for succeed with their profession and endeavours which incumbent critical thinking and experiential learning.

The main duty and task;

i.mentor students and serve as role model for learning and excellence.

ii.well prepared in our areas of expertise, bring excitement and enthusiasm to the teaching and learning process.

Facilitating student experience , supporting facilities, professional development, embracing continuous quality improvement, improve effort ensuring programs and curricular development

ii.School Based Academic Committee (SBAC)
To look after the curriculum delivery, developing lesson plan and ensuring pedagogy and MQA 8 domain been incumbent in the curriculum development and delivery. The committee ensure that the curriculum and pedagogy in the College is viable enough to impart quality education to the students and uphold the College vision and mission.

iii.Academic Board of Studies
The curriculum are revised once in three years by the Academic Board of studies which collaborate the inputs from teaching experts, industry advisor, external moderator and senior staff of College by following the guidelines from MQA. The suggestion given after the review are incorporated in the curriculum to ensure the curriculum is up to the industry requirement to prepare the student for future professional careers. The new document will be submitted to MQA for verification.

iv.Course Coordinator

  • Coordinates provision of academic advising services to assist students in developing academic plans of study (i.e. – assists in developing, coordinating, and managing daily operations of Advising Centre; implements year-round academic advising program; recommends reinstatement or suspension of students).
  • Provides comprehensive academic support services to students eligible for Student Support Services grant services (i.e. – assesses, advises, and registers incoming general studies students who are not yet in Student Support Services; screens students to determine eligibility for grant services).
  • Coordinates remedial support for at-risk students (i.e. – identifies students at risk; monitors academic progress of at-risk students; coordinates intervention program for students at risk).
  • Provides support for faculty advising system (i.e. – trains faculty and professional staff advisors; instructs/aids faculty with student advisees; develops training materials for faculty advisors; coordinates projection and distribution of advisement information sheets; coordinates advising component of orientation and registration).
  • Coordinates academic services relating to placement testing/assessment (i.e. – administers and coordinates placement testing; scores/assesses writing placement exams).
  • Coordinates the Peer Tutoring Program by adopting learning centre practices (i.e. – coordinates tutorial assistance for participants; trains, instructs, hires and coordinates activities of tutors; designs, creates, and teaches peer tutoring training curriculum; compiles/publishes Peer Tutor Program publicity; maintains tutorial records).

v. Examination Vetting Committee
This Committee comprises of College Senior Academic Staff, Academic Affairs unit and Course lecturers to engage themselves in verifying the examination question by ensuring the quality and standard matches the Bloom taxonomy criteria and uphold the MQA 8 domains. The committee also ensure the spelling and grammar check. Once this session is completed the exam paper will be return to the respective lecturers to improvisation before send for printing.
